Victor frankenstein character
Victor is a modern scientist unleashed upon an unsuspecting society. Frankenstein, is about a young man, Victor Frankenstein, who is obsessed with science and trying to find the secret to life. As adults, Frankenstein and Elizabeth reveal their romantic love for each other, and get engaged to be married. Before the monster learns to express himself, his actions are no less than terrifying. But because he bares his soul by communicating verbally to us, the readers, he reveals the unappealing motivations behind those reasonable actions and loses our trust and sympathy. He is obsessed with scientific achievement and glory, which drives him to discover the secret of manifesting life. Elizabeth observes his agitation and questions him; Victor gives her a vague answer, saying that the night is dreadful. He conveys how hurt he was when he realized that his appearance scares normal people. By showing how language transforms the monster, and by contrasting the well-spoken monster with his equally articulate creator, Shelley argues that verbal communication—rather than action or appearance—is the only way through which people can truly understand one another. Light is transitory, and the wind is rising violently. Not fully aware of the consequences of his creating a new race of humans, he spends his entire life trying to destroy the same creation. His story is filtered multiple times.
